Hello! Welcome/Fáilte to my wee mail club which aims to explore the Scottish languages through lino prints and letters. As of November 30th 2025, Scots and Gaelic were recognised as official languages of Scotland, something that should have been recognised long ago. Supporting their presence and growth is essential to the preservation and continuation of tradition, culture and identity and I felt a great way of sharing these beautiful languages with others could be via a mail club. My hope is that it will encourage fellow Scots and folk from around the world to learn something new every month, maybe decide you’d like to give learning them a bash or to simply just appreciate them! OHH and you’ll have a wee stash of original prints too hehe!

Each month, I will choose and research a Scots or Gaelic word or phrase and will base that month’s mail around it. Your mail will contain a handprinted lino print, an A6 postcard, a 5× 7 art print and a wee letter discussing that month’s word. I am also aiming to use mainly secondhand materials (where possible!)

Sign ups are open until the 10th of each month and will be posted by the 25th-27th (this gives me time to send away for stock and make my lino prints)
